Cooking for Crowds, a class of interest specifically for people who are cooking for community groups. Presented by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and held at the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust. If interested in attending, Harpswell Aging at Home will pay your registration fee. HBA Meeting (Wed. 22 May, 2019 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The last meeting of HBA until November  will be May 22, 6-8 pm at Cook's Lobster And Ale House. This is a change of date and day so that we have the best chance of getting the new HBA maps printed. Please come and pick up your 2019 maps and wish everyone a good season. Bring your brochures to share. If you cannot make it perhaps you could designate someone to pick up your maps.

HIPP Day (Sat. 25 May, 2019 9:00 am - 12:00 pm)

Harpswell Invasive Plant Partnership (HIPP) Day. Meet at Johnson Field, 25 Abner Pt. Rd., Bailey Island. Rain or shine. Learn to identify and control invasive plants, and help restore our native habitats. Free pizza lunch. Bring water, gloves, clippers, hand saws. FMI call 833-6287.

Open Homestead Day at Koviashuvik (Sat. 25 May, 2019 10:30 am - 3:00 pm)

Koviashuvik is a teaching homestead dedicated to sharing ecologically and culturally regenerative skills and life-ways.  Come tour the farm, try your hand at processing brown ash for basket making, grind some acorns for flour, and check out the solar food dehydrator, homemade rocket stoves,  root cellar etc!  Owen Knapp (age 12) will be teaching wooden sword making at 2:30pm.
