Chewonki Presents Biomimicry

Chewonki Presents Biomimicry

Date: Fri. 7 Jul, 2017 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Duration: 1 Hour

Back by popular demand! Chewonki presents Biomimicry at the Topsham Public Library on Friday, July 7 at 2:30PM. Plants and animals have evolved through generations of successes and failures resulting in remarkable adaptations to survive the challenges of life. Join us as we explore the ways engineers have taken advantage of nature’s bright ideas through biomimicry, and meet some live animals that help us draw comparisons between human-made products and animal adaptations. Perhaps we can find inspiration for our own future by observing nature in our own backyard! Limit first 100 people. Designed for ages 8 and older, but open to anyone who can sit quietly through a presentation.

Chewonki is a school, camp and environmental education organization based in Wiscasset, Maine, that inspires transformative growth, teaches appreciation and stewardship of the natural world, and challenges people to build thriving, sustainable communities throughout their lives.
